Which Penalties can Cykl apply?

Cykl Penalties Policy

The Cykl Penalties Policy has been introduced to encourage positive and responsible behavior. 

Repeated minor offences result in temporary bans. Major offences will always result in a permanent ban.

Minor offence penalties
1st minor offence (within in one year): no consequences
2nd minor offence (within in one year):  1 week ban.
3rd minor  offence  (within in one year): 3 month ban
4th minor offence (within in one year): 1 year ban.

Minor offences
1. Not reporting a malfunction.
2. Not returning the bike within 72 hours at a Cykl destination.
3. Parking the bike outside the designated bicycle racks, but at a Cykl destination.
4. Locking the bike inadequate, but the bike is not lost.

Major offences
5. Losing the bike during rental.
6. Changing the code of the lock.
7. Not returning the bike within 96 hours at a Cykl the destination.
8. Moving the bike illegally.
9. Placing your own lock.
10. Intentionally damaging the bike.

In the case of item number 5, the user is required to pay for a replacement bike (€180). In the case of item number 6, the user is required to pay for replacing the lock (€35). In the case of number 7, 8, 9 and 10 the user will be reported to the police and is required to pay for a replacement bike (€180).

A relocation fee of €15 applies if the user doesn't return the bike to a Cykl destination within 96 hours and the bike is found within the service area. If you park your bicycle outside the secure parking facility at Ede-Wageningen station you also risk a €15 removal fee if the municipality removes the bicycle.
